JUST GOT MPC 4000 AND NO SOUND?

ok i tried it all installed new os, did the sample page trim , and i see the samples in there but no luck on getting any sound out.. I contacted the seller he has offered to pay all costs of fixing so at least that is cool. But thanks Blue Haze for all the info because even if i cant hear anything im learing alot just trying all the functions lol. I already have a decent grasp of this thing just from messing with all the menus and different screens. im sending it to vst hopefully it wont be more then a couple hundred

haha, man... it's almost like a deaf guy mastering the mpc! lol... at least the seller will pay. If he goes through with it, it might mean not everyone is an ****!

MAN,you wanna work out the screws(theres a few)and open her up.your gonna have to kno this anyway.have a look around in there.make sure all leads ect are fast.Only take like 1 hour

okay so since it was shipped to you it may have been shook-en up a bit. Maybe open it up and search for something that may not be connected properly.

yo. seriously, when i got my mpc4k (brand new) this happened to me. i opened it up after trying everything-was about to return it......... there was a wire that connected the pads to whatever, and the connecter was half way connected, pushed it together and it was fixed!

i bet yours works just fine, the pads just arent connected.

also, fyi, all i did was take the sides off, turn upside down, unscrew bottom, and found the loose wire, it took me all of 10 minutes, no serious or major dissassembling.

this was like 3 years ago, since sold my mpc4k

dunno, but its worth a try. Plus, its been like 3 years, i dont remember if I tried to audition a sample or record, just remember loading samples and hitting pads with no luck. just thinking he could save some time by just peeking inside and seeing anything obviously disconnected. its not like opening the case is brain surgery. know what im saying.

yeah I agree completely... he should open that shit up
