recording seesion

Is there any way on the new jj os you can record your self in song mode to a wave file? like can you record your own session. I have read the manul for the original operating system and it doesnt appear so I thought maybe with upgrading to jj os you could i dunno? I remember watching a tutorial on the mpc 500 the guy with a parrot on his shoulder lol. It looked like he recorded a wave file of a song he made. I know if you could do this it might sound like shit rather then using a tracker or playing it to a program on the pc live through mixers etc. but It would also be nice if you could do it directly in the machine so you could burn it and play it in your car on the fly to see what needs tweaking etc when you do decide to master it. So i figure its probaly gonna be a no... and if it is a no did any of the old machines do have this function?

I am not 100% on this but I'm pretty sure no MPC's record sequences directly to wav internally.. maybe the 2500 and 5000, but the only way I know of is to resample main outs and then drag the wav over to your computer with the usb cable. that will work but like you said it won't be too crisp, better off to track out. Anyway go to record, change input to main out, adjust the record time,push record and then play. voila

Just use the "Song to Sample" feature!

im pretty sure song mode and record do not work together, but you can play your main sequence while in record mode..

so the only way i see it is that you will have to convert the song into one big sequence, go on into record mode, select main outs, and hit record & press play start..

but you will have to make sure you have enough time in the memory to capture your whole song.

note:i use a 2500 with jjos1
