I'm having problems with the MIDI sequencing. When I plug any of my midi keyboards in to record/receive sequences it starts working fine then after 5 minutes of recording or playback it stops sending note off messages (at least thats what I'm thinking) and eventually starts sustaining all the notes then causes the keyboards to freeze up saying "MIDI communication error" or just starts flickering like its shorting out. The sequence continues playing in the MPC but the keys stop responding any of the data and eventually stop making sound and wont work again until I power off/on again. Any idea what the problem is?
I've read the manual top to bottom a few times and can't seem to find what the problem is. Even when I turn the local off on the keyboard and turn the soft thru off it still does the same thing. I've been trying to troubleshoot the problem and got friends who have other MPC's including the 500 to take a look at it and they all say theirs has never had this problem. I'm worried there's something wrong with the MIDI out or some kind internal problem causing this to happen. I have seriously tried everything - different MIDI cables, different keyboards, changed output settings on the mpc and nothing works. It also does the same thing even if i;m not doing anything on the machine or the keyboard...i'll get the midi communication error after they've been hooked up together regardless of whether or not I'm recording or playing anything back. It just does it anytime the keyboard is hooked up to the mpc. Not sure what to do.
