recording into garage band or logic

i use an audio interface to link my mpc1000 to my mac, i've been trying 2 record my sequence from the mpc into garageband, but everytime i do it, it only records in the mpc not the garageband. Would i have to get a midi cable 2 plug in audio interface to the mpc? and if i do, how would i set up the mpc 2 transfer the sound into garageband?

Do you want to record the MIDI or the AUDIO off of your MPC?

i want 2 record MIDI.

Then you need a midi cable as well as a midi interface on your computer. You cannot send MIDI signals over audio cables.
