mpc insufficient memory when recording.

hello, i was trying to follow a youtube as this is my first time really using my new mpc i purchased.
i didn't do much i just did an intro with the default factory settings.
and a verse back to an intro.
not taking up much space just for a practice run.
ran it though turned into a song and sequenced.
went to record and found an error stating there is insufficient memory!

i'm not sure waht to do about this as i didn't think that this would have an issue such as this when recording.
i haven't figured out what may be recording this.
i am doing everything as stereo could that be the problem?

from what i've rread i don't seem to be the only one experiencing this error.

also when i check the status it states there is 00m 00s free

so that could be why!!!
but i did a factory reset surely it's not full its brandnew!

any suggestions?

Your RAM is not the same thing as the available space on your Flash card.

If your RAM is full you will not be able to record or load any more samples, you'll need to delete some from RAM.

what does one do exactly, do i do it from the computer or is there an option to do so on the mpc itsself.

from what i've grasped the sample needs to be smaller, if its' out of ram when i try to add a sample to one pad that's a minute or longer, does it require further chopping?

i'm sorry for acting like a newb. i read the quick start manual and kinda started getting to know it, than ran a youtube video to help me further, but then i ran into this error. i searched for it on the forums but forwhatever reason i couldn't find a solution.

any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

To free up space on the RAM, just delete the samples that either are on the MPC when it starts up, or delete samples from RAM. Another thing you can do is, is record the audio in Mono L, which will halve the recording size. Other than that, you'll probably want to purchase some specific RAM from a computer store or something and install it. Warning to the wise, this may damage your MPC, you never know.

The sticky at the top of the forum for RAM and CF cards is a good place to read up on your RAM.
