I have a turntable that lets you tune the pitch of the record up and down. The preoblem is, I always pitch my stuff up to too fast or too slow when I do it that way. Whats a good percentage to tune a sample up or down to?

So uhm... you want to adjust the tempo to rap against? Do you care if it is pitch shifted or not? Are you looking for a time stretching setting/program?

Yes. I dont care if its pitch shifted as long as it still sounds good. Yeah, what are some good pitch shifting and tempo shifting programs?

Ableton Live... Celemony Melodyne... Propellerheads Record is actually pretty good...

Hardware wise, I know you can do some tempo changes with the Korg Sound on Sound pocket recorder... Roland made some hardware to do it (forget the name off the top of my head) but I think it required a computer to render an interface...

maybe worth doing it in your mpc?

was your original question just - "whats the average bpm range for hip hop"?
