Yeah, rap shows are tough enough to pull off live, I know the heads here won't agree with me on that, but ummmm yeah. Anyway another option would be to go for Ableton Live running on a laptop. It is really easy to learn and use, you can match different beats on the fly, speed up speed down the tempo, add crazy delay effects. It is cool. You can fade inbetween different tracks or loops. Very very easy to use. You could rock the show with that. You could paint a Skull and Crossbones on the lid so when you show up and open her up people know you mean business.
But you still will be missing the stage presence of the the dj. Another option alltogether would be the MPC 1000. Another still is rockin it with a CDJ. Ok laugh all you want but I heard some guy ripping it up on one of those a while ago. They've come a long way. Still, NO stage presence but a lot easier to get to and from the party.
