Chopping Breaks Help???

How you I chop my snare and Kicks so they don't sound out of place
when I play them as drums notes?? In other words more Like Primo
less like Marley Marl??

I think she was referring to the fact that much of Marley Marl's old stuff... I mean the early days... Was too quantized and at times felt robotic....

While Premo... He has a more natural, realistic feel to his tracks...

Basically, it comes down to the fact that Premo's drums sound like a "real" drummer... Marley Marl's tracks sound like a drum machine...

I don't think she intended anything against Marley Marl... I seen Phillystres on here talkin before... She knows her hip-hop... I think you just took it wrong homes...

Make sure u cut em clean...No snipping...add extra silence if needed at the end of shots and much use of VELOCITY when programming will help things sound a bit more together and in place. U gotta get them levels right

i use the grid in recycle. and cut em to that, then i can put the quantise on 1/16 and place a hit at each note. alot of the times if the snares are late, it will retain the original feel of the loop, but when triggered will sound late there are alot of different methods of doing shit. just experiement i guess.

Nice apples but work with 1/16 triplets for quantization and slice samples according to quarter note beats 4 beats = 4 slices and next use extract sample edit aka section new sound on the 2k and really trim and get the hits you want. MPC tutor gots some real info on this and the deception cat has a mini tutorial on it too.

Turn the quantize function off......just make sure that your drum skills are on point...

u know whats better choppin into 1/8 note slices. 1 bar = 8 slices.

yeh but more over lapping on tempo changes though.
