Question for an MPC expert

My question is about the lo-pass filter (2000XL).
Even when the resonance setting is at "0", to my ear, the resonance is still to high.
I would like it to act more passive, just straight filtering (I've had the S2000 and S3000xl, and to me the filters on those sound less resonant when set at "0".)

Is there any internal adjustment, or modification that you can do to change that?

negative. hit opend window on it and i think there is a velocity filter screen. i dont remeber.

I don't really mean in the o/s of the MPC. I mean more like literally on the inside of the machine.

the mfc 42 was akai's attempt at remedying this. to me the filters on the mpc make the sounds to muddy. the resonance is not bright enough. i use an external filter. ( frostwave resonator ). it r0x the socks off the mpc's filters.

Imma kinda surprised , why ain't ya use your SP fi drumz? and, ya move from 2000 to 2KXL? Filters are better on SP1200 (ya know dat allreaddy!)
Whatever, I will suggest to process a little EQ on ya mixingboard just before sampling in your MP... So that u could shape the high fréquences...

Yeah, I know I know. The SP is a bit of a pain in the ass to use for me these days. Partly, because I have no room to keep both set up at the same time. If I NEED that grit sound for something, I'll use it. But, then I just sample it back into the MPC. Dealing with files, and saving, and loading, editing, etc. is all easier/better on the MPC. The SP just has a good sound.
And, as far as the 2000......I said S2000, not MPC2000..........so yeah, I went from S2000 to S3000XL to MPC2000XL (my favorite of all.)
