akai mpc 2500 vs roland mv8800

can anyone tell me which one is better to buy for live music or just to make up beats....NO SEQUENCING....the akai mpc 2500 or the roland mv8800...can someone please help me out...i really need to know A.S.A.P....which one is better to use for beats or live music alone????? the roland mv-8800 with a roland sp-555 sampler or an akai mpc 2500 with a roland sp-555 sampler????...please please please guys can you all help me out A.S.A.P....thanks

You got to slow down dude!! The sp-555 & the 8800 (8000) are very good for live, But a 2500 & jjos are very Dangerous Weapons Also!!! you only need one, here's some links to help out

Nobody can't tell you what's best for you
You have to decide for yourself after researching what each one of them does or doesn't do
Not everyone has the same workflow
That's something you decide after looking and experiencing for yourself
Look at videos in youtube, read some reviews, go to guitar center or samash and play with them. Maybe a friend has one, etc.

i'm not from the U.S..i'm from the caribbean ( TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO ) so i don't really know about the machines but i'm opening a band an i play drums an rhythms so i trying my best to decide what 2 machines to buy for live music...akai mpc 2500 for beats an a roland sp-555 for samples or a roland mv-8800 for beats an a roland sp-55 for samples

for just the beats the mv and the mpc will be the same... you making loops and just triggering them... both are samplers and both do both them jobs.

the mv though can take 4 times more ram so that would probably be better if you want to load up an entire set in the machine.

they all do similar/same thing. i doubt you need 2 of em, youll only need one, i'd say sp555 is the lesser of the 3 (but not bad, depends on your needs). sp 555 might be more dj orientated too, peep some of the vids on rolandus.com - this may be good for you depending on what you plan on doing live.

If you get 2500 you definately should consider the jjos (third party OS you can buy with significant updates)

like other's said, try em out if you can. just cause the mv and mpc look similar and have similar features, they most definately are not the same workflow.

Just buy the one you can afford and try it out!

The best JJOS is the one that you can afford and has the features that you want.

Most people will go either the OS2 way or the OS2XL way though. Depends if you're willing to give up a few OS2 features to get the new OS2XL features though.

The mv has a larger learning curve compared to the mpc, in my humble opinion.
