ok. so in Pro Tools all I have to do is go to Set Up - Midi - Midi Beat Clock.. then select the port.. (do i have to click on anything in the synchronization bar, like "MTC" or it might be called GTC i don't know) and in the ASR do I have to go to Edit- Sequence - Beat Clock - External and thats it?

ive been reading it for mad long and i just get more and more confused

ive posted my question on 3 forums and have gotten no response

you can set your protools to "wait for midi" and hope your computer is fast enough to start within about 60 frames or 10ms or some ish, but youll end up nudging anyway homie.

you're the only one saying it doesn't sync... i asked before i got pro tools if it would, and everyone said it would. plus (i know this cause i spent hours reading the manual), the manual has a guide of how many frames to offset it for different tempos. PLUS another way of working around it is by adding two blank bars in the beginning, which gives it enough time to settle in place. ive been studying every day, trying to figure this shit out, but there is no "ASR-10+ProTools8" manual. and i know everyone else figured it out on their own, but if you know so much can't you just spend the same amount of time typing it up as you are telling me to figure it out? i have been studying this, hours and hours every day. but no luck yet. it would speed this up 10x if someone would help me out.

well ive done some research and it seems like its better to slave the ASR to Pro Tools, better clock or w/e... but i've gotten more confused trying to do so.... but thats what i need to do so,,,

1st: set asr to clock source= external


2nd: midi OUT cable of interface TO midi IN ASR


3rd: set PT session to SAME tempo as asr


4th: go to menus and find MIDI beat clock. (not sure on 8, they always change menus)


5th: Click the check boxes on the midi out ports (all)





6th... press record playstart...



did you see your sequencer at least start on the ASR?

im too excited to get back working on my music, i wont be able to sleep tonight.
thanks again.

and if you're wondering why i couldn't figure it out on my own, it was a lot simpler than i thought. there are all these midi settings to **** with on the ASR and on Pro Tools.

but the real reason all my studying never paid off and none of my multiple attempts ever worked:
i had the IN of my asr going to the IN of my mbox. woowwwwww...

edit song steps is in command sequence



lay out your sequences in song mode, then when you have to do multiple runs all your shit will switch with your song.
