MPC 2500 Sequence issues

Hey guys, I recently bought an mpc 2500, and I was making a few sequences and saving them to the harddisk of the 2500. My first question is should i save the sequence as a SEQ or MID file? and second, whenever i load the sequence after i shut down the mpc, the mpc 2500 loads the sequence, but i hear no sound coming out of the speakers the 2500 is hooked up to. ny ideas of what i'm doing wrong or what i should do?

Until then, just save using ENTIRE... That saves ALL files. Sound,seq, midi, programs, etc.. Right now you have only saved sequences and midi, so all sounds are gone if you turned off the machine. if you use softsynths, then you might still have them, but sounds that you sampled off vinyl, cd, youporn etc is gone...

you only need to save midi if you have used midi such as external keyboards etc, if you've just used samples from with the mpc and used the pads to trigger the sample then you just need to save the sequence but you must also save all the samples and programs you used to make this sequence, you have to think about it in a different way, like when you save a sequence you haven't saved a wav file, you have just saved a file that has lots of information and the main part of this information comes from the samples and programs, you could make sequences for the rest of your life but if you don't save your programs and samples then you will never hear the sequence you have made. what I would do is when saving, make a new folder everytime and save a project file. I'm prob not the best to take advice off though cos now I'm wondering why I always save projects instead of all files?? shit why have I beed doing that haha.

one more tip, hard to explain but if you want to save to a new folder you have to first hit load and click OUT of the previous folder then go back to save.

Also, it is pain staking and borning but sit there with the manual and go through EVERYTHING using the mpc and manual together until there is NOTHING left that you don't understand. which is what I'm gonna do now, with the all file saving option, my memory is telling me that all files save effects settings as well as everything else but doesn't project do that 2??

I figured this problem out the same day I asked this question (which was about a week ago) and I'm probably going to update the OS soon. Im still working with an Akai OS until i can get my hands on a CF card and eventually update it to JJOS.
