low end theory question

i got my main loop on track 1 ( i know how to copy tracks) how can i put this loop on another track and change the freg and reson without it effecting the track 1 loop? should i just copy the sample and do it? this is the only way i got it to work. just thought that there might be a simpler way...thanks peace...

Is this loop a single sample or a sequence of different samples? Either way, yes you would need to copy them & assign them to different pads to have different filter settings.

Even if you have a mixer & an external filter you would need copies of the sample(s) sent to different outputs of the MPC. If you don't have the 8 outputs fitted you could pan the samples hard left & hard right & then use the stereo out like two separate mono outputs.

You don't need to copy the sound.
If the loop is just one sample, then just assign the same sample to another pad, turn the filter all the way down and make the pad with the main loop trigger the pad with the down end -loop.

cheech how do you assign the same sample to a different pad ? And also how would the pad with the main sample trigger the pad with the down end -loop?

1. Program mode, Assign screen.
--- SHIFT + 6 (or was it 9? anyway it says PROGRAM on there) gets you to the screen where you choose your DRUM. If you don't know what this means just choose DRUM1 for now ( but you should read up on the DRUM/PROGRAM stuff, it's in the manual). Then you'll get to the assign screen, from here you can tap on any of the pads and assign sounds to them. From this screen press params and you get to tweak the filters and stuff like that.

2. You can do this from the assign screen. There's a (can't remember the actual name..) "playing mode" or something that is set to normal. Select SIMULT and you can choose two other pads to trigger when you hit the pad. There are other stuff there as well, but you'll have to find em out yourself.
