what ya'll d'n'b producers using for bass.synth i have the Roland juno106 & an KORG-ea1.. any recommendations?

A lot of d&b and jungle artists use more or less a straight sine wave for bass. Almost any synthesizer should be alright, even an old FM box like the yamaha tx81z.

I use a clavia micro modular for subby basslines.

novation supernova has some pretty sick bass sounds. I also use the nord
modular depending on the grain I want to give it... go to some shops and check em out.... my personal favourite at the moment is the access virus c, it has some sick filters and really warm harmonics...

It seems Moog has some of the Best Bass sounds around. Ever use any of there boards??

They're pretty much useless for sub bass, but otherwise they're the stuff dreams are made of. Insanely expensive though.

yeah they got a new synth called the voyager, it's real bulky and real expensive and doen't sound half as good as they used to... it's not got all the good old components that every moog a slightly different edge... you can get some good emulations though... most of the old moog synths are monophonic and cost a lot. I would get a newer multi instrument with multiple outs and emulate the moog... you can get some convincing results if you practice...

For DnB the bass is almost always a Virus, for those tearing sinister basses.

Either that, or if you use logic, the ES 2 has had some straight DnB bass sounds in the hands of a friend of mine, sick sick bass.

Wouldn't it be cool if you as a famous producer were able to produce an ill song for Britney Spears with the sampled sub fart bass. Its on the radio waves, top ten hit. And you're at a club listening to it with your friends.

Anyway, I've gotten into a bad rut where the last four tracks I did all had a sine wave sub bass. It gets split off to a bus where the low end gets filtered off, soft distortion added, and then compressed. Best of all its cheap.

you can't filter a true sinewave, since it only has one harmonic, a filter will just act as a level control.

yeh have always liked the sound of the virus synths. plus you get a lot of sounds for your dollars. im after those grainy, sinsister basses, with plenty of grit that tear thru the mix, ring mod styles and such.
