Sorry for the newbie questions. Just bought an MPC 4000 to use instead of my current software based system. I have the sample kind dvd's and found some you tube tutorials but had a few newbie questions.
1. I was trying to transfer about 5GB of Sample files from my mac over to the internal hard drive on the mpc 4000. I upgraded the mpc to 1.71 version of the OS and installed AKsys 261 on my mac. Tried uploading the data with and without the "classic not sieze" driver package installed but it always errors out. I lowered the amount of transfer down to ~700mb at a time and I still get an error. If I split the files so they fit on cd-roms is there a way to copy the cd-rom contents from the cdrom to the internal hard drive? How about if I put it on an external hard drive and connected it via USB...can I transfer it to the internal drive then? By the way are dvd drives supported on the mpc 4000?
2. On my software sampler I can sample say a keyboard or guitar sound. Tell it what note it was that was sampled and then it will attempt to provide single or multiple octaves from that one note. I call it 1 to many sampling not sure what it's really called. Can the mpc do this?
3. Is there nay reason to not run 1.71 (versus a lower version) of the os?
4. On the link to the left there doesn't appear to be an mpc 4000 tutorial? any place to get this? any body local to chicago that can help me out...willing to pay....
