Where to find the best and latest hip hop sounds?

Hey everyone! I've had my MPC for almost 10 years now. I always stuck to making my own custom sounds...but as of late I've been searching high and low trying to find a good hip hop kit. I wasted so much money buying commercial kits and so called "hip hop" kits off of mpc sample sites. I've been disappointed at every turn. The commercial kits sound generic and never have the those heavy kicks or snares you find on the radio today just the same ol' 808 kits from 2 decades ago. The mpc sample kits a few choice websites put up I've played around with but honestly I made better kits myself. I'm just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. Who is putting out the best modern age hip hop kits for the mpc like the kicks snares and bases on todays radio. I'm at my wits end please help a fellow mpcer! Thanks for all advice!

I would try Croup's Dirty and filthy drums, there awesome. "Sounds in HD" Also very good, they have a demo kit so you can see if you like it.

I like buying hip-hop instrumental albums, JD's Donut is nice.

Alright, I just was wondering why would someone with that much experience would even want to come and ask about latest Hip Hop sounds to download. Makes you sound like you were 10 days on it don'tcha think?

Its cool that you want to step up in the music world, but all those type of sounds will never perfect the creativity of the mind of the musician within yourself. Make your own, be original and some day radio will demand your drums.

I cant help you out with sound libraries. Im just curious.. surely after 10 years, you've got 10 years worth of drum samples?
I just cant get my head round why you would want a 'contemporary' drum sample package. Is the 2000xl limited in its abilites to shape drum sounds? Ive only ever had a 1000 (exclusively software before that) so i wouldnt know.

haha you guys are pretty funny. No actually I have a pretty good collection but I'm more of a musician(as in playing the instruments) than a sampler(directly sampling them). Most of the time when I play a track for people they think I sampled something... when I didn't. Kinda good and bad because sometimes when you submit tracks companies aren't interested in trying to liscense samples. I've actually gotten A&R feedback telling me there were too many samples when there were none... Screw em let em keep the bubble gum lady gaga pop. I stopped buying albums years ago!

but to update about the stuff thanks for the heads up. I did my searching picked up Croups.com filthy drums (quality stuff lots of sounds on that joint! like 200?). I also got somethingI caught off youtube called blazinkits.com someone reviewed (cool sounds not many though they need to make like a full sound set like 34 sounds a kit), and I brought a joint from a soundkitz.com (sh*t load of sounds also good stuff like 500 sounds).

The only messed up part is I need to find a new zip for my computer. Otherwise it's going to be a pain in the a** putting these into a kit manually on the MPC. I'm an older gear head so I grew up with the notion that buying a kit was wrong which is why I rarely have done it and when I did I thought the stuff I had was better... but now with the new tech kits sound much better. The last time I got ripped was on some Ubershall garbage... some straight up BS! Sounded like casio but cost the price of a Korg. I was pissed as hell and I think that was the last time I fooled with a kit ... but thanks for bringing me back.

I don't really have 10 years of drum samples piled up. I have like 5 disk with mostly customized drums I made. Most of the time I use the MPC to sample myself then I'll splice it into a song like it's a lifted sample off an album or something. Sometimes I'll just reuse the same kit and pump it into a filter module (yeah I said module as in real knobs you turn no windowsormac) and morph the sample out a bit. Usually I like to use the Electrix Filter Factory or Filterqueen when I had em. I had brought hte MFC42 back when it was just released but sent it back it was too expensive and the Filter Factory was half price and blew the joint away. I'm still more of an anti computer guy so I try to do as much manually as I can. The 2000XL is nice but a sound kit/library to me is just a starting point it's like raw materials. Once I'm done with it they don't sound the same.
