I have a cd Jermaine Dupri presents LIFE IN. Soundtrack to the film? very good compilation btw.AND i quite like that track by the end.Nice compressed phat snare,Low compressed bass.high end was naff(but serves purpose!!) tho.like bg said just a lil someting from the lab..

for those that don't know what he's doing. He's using Maschine to go thru and find drum sounds he likes, then sampling them into the MPC 60 II and sequencing on the MPC. I think he has a keyboard midi'ed up to his MPC too.

Good way of working. Grab them Maschine sounds, put them into the MPC to beef them up and give them that 60 swing.

Nice post I midi up the two units under sounds to midi, setup the root note and it was a done deal. MPC as the master and maschine as the module. Nice.

big shot label ceo is about the best insult you can give a musician. I'd take it. And he's responsible for a lot of hits, and he's sold millions of records. Like him or not as an artist, you gotta respect his accomplishments.

I wasn't trying to discredit his work... but wasn't he a big shot CEO for one of those record labels (virgin records possibly?? or was that someone else?) he may have been responsible for many many many hits... however hit and chart music is not really my favourite thing in the world. Sure he has solid stuff but most of what he has done that I have heard wasn't for me and didn't encourage me to check the rest of his stuff.

It's all good JD was more of a R&B producer though he started out in hip hop you can't forget the so so def label of the 90's with the Brat So funkiefed. The CEO move was in line with Dre, Puffy, LA Face, and The cat from Texas I forgot running major labels Urban music division and JD was keeping up with the Jones. When Janet's shit bombed he had to step down for the fall but he made a recent comeback with good hits.


But in this demo video back on point the workflow was great and the usage was on point. The beat itself seems like he had to much Champage, es, and not enough sleep to be bouncing to that. It was self indulgence only **** around no where near his capabilities and he is known as a good collobrater so no one was going to rap or sing over that either.


Anyways we all made up some shit when our minds were gone!!!!! The Difference is whether we are going to posting it up on the net when we are in a **** up state of mind.
