can i use old pieces of hardware from my old computers like cd roms and hd's

so really internal or external doesnt matter

for scsi external only. internally the mpc does not use scsi. besides if you had to ask, you really dont want to be poking around inside your mpc, especially trying to use old pc parts in it.

nah i meant if the hard drive that came out of my computer was an scsi 50 pin hd than could i connect it to the mp externally like wise with a cd rom because all of the external hd's and cd roms i find have way too many gigs, cost way too much or have to many pins. so i was thinking maybe i could use my old hardware if it had scsi connections

but if it came 'out' of it would have been an internal drive. anyways, watch ebay I scored a 2 gig external for like $5 about a year ago and it works perfect.

btw, the cable you will want to pick up to use with most of those is
50-pin Centronics-to-Male DB25
