MPC 1000 won't power up

A couple of weeks ago I was using my MPC 1000, I turned off the power, then turned it back on right away and that seems to have killed it. Now it won't power up at all. I've opened it up, the power switch works (passes voltage) and nothing smells cooked. Can anybody suggest a fix? I have an internal hard drive and a full complement of RAM, using JJOS. Thanks.

Measure the power cable?

I've tried different power cables. Are you suggesting the length of the cable might be a factor? Thanks.

In general it is not a good idea to power off a unit and immediately power it on again.

Putting a electronic device into Standby and then Power it up again is a different story but sadly the MPC only has the option to totally cut power from the internal power supply.

My guess is that you have cooked a capacitor, transistor or coil on the power supply board.

If it's under Warranty then try to get it fixed / replaced for free. If it's no longer under Warranty then get someone to measure the Power Supply Board.

Refer to the Service Manual that can be found by performing a Forum Search.
