Power Cord

I was reading somewhere that using non stock power cords (power cords that came with the unit) can void the warranty on some equipment..

I'm not sure where my particular cord is from for my MPC 2500, but it is not an Akai stock power cord, it is gray and has a made in china tag....

Can doing this cause any damage/negative effects to my mpc?

Should i buy an Akai power cord?

I'm not sure akai makes power cords, usually the warranty thing is for devices with DC adaptors because adaptors handle different voltages

Isnt the power cord very common in alot of electronics. I think you should be fine dude.

yeah, thats what I think those are the same cables that most computers use so It doesn't matter

True. That type of power cord is universal. The "Wall Wort" is what you would have to worry about. Wall Worts are power adapters and will always have a voltage and amperage listed for them, such as "550ma @ 12V".
