How come Roland never did a reissue of the 808/909?

You could just build your own clone.

This is exactly the reason why MOOG only released 1000 of the revamped "Taurus" bass pedal module earlier this year.

One thing you gotta remember also is that the 808 & 909 weren't classics until 10 years ago when they started getting massive use. Roland probably never thought of re-releasing them.

Plus the fact the 808 & 909 sounds are readily available all over the place, and almost everybody here knows SOMEBODY who has one or the other,.

i likethe way mfb goes, cheap analogue units, they ve also a 808 clone(new)! i tried it and it comes close to the
original and it s so cute...!

it s cheap smd stuff,i ve a micro modular from them. sound s really good. i always asked myself why korg didn t do a reissue of the ms 10 ms 20!!!

thy did the controller but without the rest, this combined with analogue smd bord....! it s not expensive to produce.
