Beat Making on the MPC ebook by MPC Tutor

It`s a great deal for 2KXL and 4K users. I downloaded and going thru teach tipbit. One of the best ever I came across so far. Join the club or just it a try. It covers the fundamentals and with take your game a step up. I recommend it for everybody.

I might even try one of those rhodes CDs I wish I could listen to a sample kit.

so it is still relevant for the 4K even though it was made for the 2k?

Yup, I used a 2kXL before the 4000 and as of now I`m going through step by step with the examples. Heed some of the terminology for the 2k and 4K is different but it is fundamentally very similar. Try it out a great investment for beginners and advanced users.

wasn't the stuff in the eBook all the stuff that used to be on the webpage for free?

I was just looking at the table of contents. I only see about 20 or so pages that interest me. I would be very hesitant to pay $40 for 20 pages. It looks pretty good if you don't know alot of the basics though.

It 200 pages and for more detailed than the free pages. Each chapter comes with pictures and a tutorial folder of samples to use in your mpc. Step by step instructions and even on the most basic functions he shows some tips on the usage of editing. Try it for yourself you will definitively get more out of the tutorial in a few days than asking the most basic questions on the board for months. I got the newsletter and a demo kit and decided to invest in it. It is truely unbelieveable that most of us including myself joined this forum and board without seeking any of MPC Tutors tips and knowledge. I guess when it is free we don`t apprieciate shit. But the good shit don`t come for free ya!!! 39 bucks is not much when I know you are buying extra gear, sample CDs, videos, and the cable and internet bills month after month asking mofos as lost as yourself how to do shit. I do too I can`t front. But check it if you had someone to sit down with you and explain shit step by step wouldn`t you paid the guy even 50 dollars if your production can go up to the next level. Shit that how some of the pros did it working in a studio with an engineer or experience pro who understood the gear. Get your mind right and get it don`t **** around over 39 bucks the shit it cheap compare to the knowledge you gain.

i dont think im going to buy it ive had the 2000 in the past so i think i learned the basics. hopefully a ebook for the 4000 is around the corner

ill get that sh1t in a second this 4000 world is so big i feel lost somtimes!

To each his own. Check out the Z8 manual thread. For others try don`t be afraid of mistakes. Better to invest in a little knowledge sometimes. They are all samplers.

Thanks Haze...I was wondering about the depth of that book...and coming from you, if it's hitting on things that can tighten up work on the 4k....then it's worth it to me...I'm gonna get it right now.

1) Any chance you can tell which feature requests made it in the new OS? or at least give us some hints?

2) Will this be a full release or a beta version?

3) Lastly, will this OS be backwards compatible?...by that I mean, will we be able to use songs, sequences, multis, and programs created with OS 1.6?

To reply to your questions I can`t give all the details or else I can`t get the free assistance in the future and get my man in trouble.

1) 4k update wll be more on par with the MV8000. All the steps working with audio will be easier to do concerning sampling. Concerning the sequencer loop lengths requests I don`t think so.

2) Beta version with the full release to follow by Jan.

3) I don`t know really. In the previous releases the OS`s were compatible but the multis, effects, volume, and sequence data were affected I always backup my data.




4) Basically there are alot of features not mentioned on the board that you can do on the 4k already if you work with the basic process of composing, arranging, and creating beats like a dance/dj producer. All the future updates are fullifiilling and automating these steps for us and making it easier to do for novices. I come to realized once I learned more of the process of making dance/club/electronia music then using the gear becomes easier. Tomorrow`s technology lets the gear do more of the work, but at the same thing some of the work techniques will be lost to beginners at the same time.

Basic tip always line up the tempos of different loops whether custom made on the mpc through resampling or straight off a record or cd into your memory. Time slice it.
