all for $450AU, is that a good deal i ask.. i think so.

looks like a bit of a headfuk, but hopefully it was worth it. it was supposed to be just the kawai keyboard, but dude said it comes with an amp.. a kurzweil rack lol. dope!
it came with all manuals/boxes/50 disks/power cables.

any comments on the kurzweil 2000r??

i'm gonna get my research on now.

cool man, cheers for the info.

i'm just playing with it now for the first time, the backlight is really dim, after the 40 second boot up it said the voltage was low or something, might something to do with it..

the kawai joint is fresh, never used. they keys feel really nice compared to the fantom, all the keys are over 1/2 an inch longer too.

any insight or direction into any of these two pieces will be much appreciated.

i'm just trying to think of the best way to midi all this shlt up..

main sequencer -mpc2500
main keys -fantom x6
kawai 5000s?
kurzweil 2000r?
planet phatt?

i should be able to figure it out one of these days, :?
peace!

congrats on ur new gear, never play'd with any of those but they look nice.

for your hook up
All into the MPC:

main keys -fantom x6 (Midi In / Out A)
kawai 5000s? (Midi In / Out B)
kurzweil 2000r? (Midi Out C)
planet phatt? (Midi Out D)

Make sure you can have all the audio outs of those machnes going into a mixer, Then you can play and sequence all the modules.

I've got a kurz k2500rs myself. From the looks of things, it seems like your k2000r does have the sampling option because of the xlr inputs you see to the far right of the unit.

Sweet deal no doubt!

the pic is not mine, just dug it up on google.. but yeh mine has the xlr-L/R & hiZ inputs on the front, scsi, 10 outs, digital in/out..

i think it has just over 16mb onboard. the sounds that are coming out of it are very powerful, just having a stab at making some patches now.

i'm really happy with my purchases! :D

the kawai k-5000s is a beast too, well it can make some pretty powerful pads & leads, not much good for anything else from what i can tell so far.. the dopest thing on it are the control knobs & especially the even/odd harmonics knob, shit is dope!

interested in how you use it, and what it does for you..?

cheers,

Damn, I'm sorry padlock, I don't know how I missed this.

First, I'd say you'll probably need to up the memory from 16mb to I think 128mb. All it takes is the old 32 pin standard sdram or something like that and you're in.

As far as workflow, it's on point with the sounds no doubt and I never had to deal with freezes or subpar performance. You'll really dig how this thing sounds because of the v.a.s.t synthesis technology and it's sampling capabilities as well.

But I've never used the sampler before except to test to see if it worked or not, but it did, so I was cool with that.

the fuking deal of the century

damn!

and yeah, I got a comment on the 2000r.

If Kurzweil is such a futurist, why didnt he make this into a drum machine as opposed to a rack unit?!?!?1
