Akai MPC 2500 will no longer start.

my Akai MPC 2500 will no longer start. I pressed the start button, but nothing happened. It smelled a little burnt? What happened? and how can I possibly fix it

I bought it second hand.

you are out of the states, so id look on the internet for companies that specialize in servicing akai mpc's.....the only place i know of that is close to me in the states, in california, and which i have used is forat.com
