Preserving 24bit Audio

Is there any way to sample 24bit sound files using the MPC 2500 without having to resample?
I've also noticed the MPC has a Digital I/O, I was also wondering what this is useful for

Get a 4k if you feel the need to deal with 24 bit sampling. The coax connections are to send a digital signal to another digital device such as an external cd recorder or digital mixer.

the spdif in and out on the mpc2500 (internal called digital in/out) seems to be stereo in and out 44.1 khz 16bit only!

the spdif standard says it is in 20bit (optional 24bit) but not all equipment support that bits. if a machine does not support 20 or 24bit the not used bits are set to zero. that means that some of your information will be lost by using this way - or that the machines cannot connect at all if the bit rate is not supported.

Notsure why you would want to do that? Upscaling 16 to 24 is gonna leave you with more problems then advantages. Is your sampling source hd24 digital? If not you are going to gain artifical particles.
