Who here samples everything in there MPC??

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Im talkin bout basslines,synth sounds and whatever? Just askin cause i wanna change up the workflow and get some ideas.As far as basslines go,would it be better to sample it or just go the vst/midi route (which ive already been doin)??

Sometimes I sample everything into one unit. Sometimes I midi stuff up with my mp. Depends on the type of beat and samples/ sounds that are availible. There's not a specific best option here.

i run all my sounds into my mp.if i make a bassline or other thing on mo phatt for example.i also got some mpc s programs with microkorg sound..i resample all in mp.like this i got all my sounds ready when i load a beat on the mp..everything is in place and i can chop it,filter it etc..i use midi when i make my beats not when i save them..peace

Everything goes in my MPC. Even tracks that are composed from scratch. I like having everything in one place.

Well, I haven't got there yet because I don't sample that much. But I'm sure there's plenty of benefits associated with utilizing a technique such as this.

As far as bass lines are concerned, if you're already playing out your bass parts, then you're miles ahead of the pack.

I think it's a creative way to put that signature aspect to your tracks.

I sample everything (although not exclusively into my MPC - I also sample a lot of stuff into Ableton Live - or more accurate resample stuff within ableton live). The main reason I do it is because I treat everything (MIDI tracks and everything) the same way I treat vinyl samples.

In other words, I sample myself as well as (and in the same way that I would sample) other artists. Then chop it up and create something totally different.

Its a combination of a ping-pong delay and lightly applied phaser. Done in pro tools, synchronized then re sampled.

I have been wondering what that was for a couple of months now... mainly because I once made something that sounded almost like that effect... but not quite. So it had me curious for the longest time how you came up with yours.

yea man, mess around with it. Ive used it on a couple of tracks. It sounds sick on basslines when done right
