First off, I don't own an MPC and I have never used one other than messing around in Guitar Center. But, I have been doing really extensive research because I plan to buy one. I want to produce beats with that early 90's hip hop sound and most likely a lot of sampling.. Out of all my research the 60 and 3000 have come out on top. What I'm wondering is, are the upgrades really necessary? More specifically are they necessary for someone who has never used an MPC? for instance.. the SCSI interface boards and zip drives, extended memory, etc.
I really want the MPC 60..
Would I be good buying one that's stock or should I try to get one with 3.10 update and all of that?
Are more upgrades better or are they for the more advanced MPC users?
And lastly, does anyone think I should pick the 3000 over the 60?
I need some guidance from the experts.
