after my pc caught the virus yesterday and I had to wipe out EVERYTHING and re-install windows it made me appreciate even more that I have a 120 gb harddrive installed in my mpc 1000 that has my drum & sample library stored within it as well as beat backups.

Now I know if had a mac, the virus would not have happened BUT I gotta say that having a stand alone music production center that's sole purpose is music production is always going to be the safer way to work though I also have a backup dell desktop sitting around also ableton authorized just in case the laptop craps out

mpc 1000 jjos 4.99 & ableton live 8 mpk49 rode nt 1 a shure x2u & sm58

There are no rules! You have simply chosen to expand your tools. But the tools are only extensions of the artist that is creating with them. You have to put your time in on that MPC and integrate it into your work flow. The knowledge that you have of software will guide you to integrate the MPC and interface it with your software. Time to get to work!!!
