Question About Automatic Tracking?

Is there some sort of function where the mpc (I have te 500) will automatically set each pad to it's own individual track? That would just make my day.

Is there an official place to make suggestions to akai?

Cuz the way they have the tracks set up like A1, A2 etc., it's just begging to automatically track those pads.

Give it a go and see if the research & development team at akai/numark will take your idea into consideration.

Personally, I've never had a problem with how things are done on any mpc. I've got too many other machines to try and remember their steps and procedures.

JJOS 2XL has this feature. It's sexay.

There's no actual problem, I just feel it makes sense to have that option. I mean why who you name tracks after pads if they weren't going to line up. And you could just bus tracks together in stead of manually having to remember which track u assigned to each pad.

Lmao....almost 10 years since the last decent MPC was made, and cats still cant wrap they heads around how the machine works, or was intended to work....

If you assign all pads to a track, how many tracks will you have??? 64?? On a fully expanded mpc (any model except the 500 & 1000) theres 8 outputs... what useful purpose would it serve to have 64 auto assigned tracks....And how the hell would you assign names to tracks/pads!!

Oh and by the way, whoever told this dude to contact Akai to suggest this function had to be **** joking! Have you ever tried to deal with Akai?? They dont even support their products, let alone implement user requested features via os updates....You'd be better off suggesting it to the JJ guys.

Pure laziness homie, if you want fast, quick and easy...take up Reason and give your MPC away, beacuse you aint ready for it.

Man why you getting so intense. Chill out.

I'm just saying it would be a nice function. Cuz when I'm making a quick drum loop with like 4 total pads, kick snare, hat, tom, or whatever. It would make sense to assign each pad to a different track. And it would be a hell of a lot easier if I didn't have to manually switch the track every **** time I wanted to add or delete or edit one piece of a 8 count loop. And it's damn annoying when you have a spur of the moment idea and you throw a high hat into the kick track, or some shit like that. And then have to mute tracks until u figure out where you messed. Delete the sound, switch tracks, put it in again in the right track...etc.

You're not gonna use 64 track separately. If pads were auto assigned you just mute the pads you don't want and keep the ones you do. Then record out. What's so hard to understand about that. Why would I want to assign the kick on pad A4 to track A1? thats just confusing as hell.

because you multi track out of the 8 outputs.

Output 1 being kicks, output 2 being snares, output 3 being hats/ambient cymbals, output 4 being bass/low freq. sounds, output 5 being samples, etc.etc.etc.

You HAVE to know whats going on in your sequencer and labelling the tracks by sound type will prevent all of the bs youre talking about. To autoassign pads to tracks would only make sense for someone like you (with a 500)...Anyone with a real MPC would hate this shit.

Oh, and by the way, your 500 would have maximum track count before you loaded a sound or programmed a seq. into a track. Again, making no sense..
