From MPC 60 to S1000 !?

Hi,

I recently bought a MPC-60 mkII (12 bit, 40 kHz) but I find the
sound quality a little bit low.

So I want to know if it is possible to hook up a Akai S1000
(that comes with 16 bit and 44.1 kHz) to my MPC-60 so that I can keep the good quality and sample with the sound quality of the S1000.
Or does the MPC change it back to 12 bit and 40 kHz ?

But then I sample with the MPC at 12 bit and put it out with the S1000 at 16 bit
but it's still gonna be 12 bit. (I guess ?!)

MIDI sends what note what velocity and how long.... you sample into the 60 for drums and anything you want dirty...

you sample into the 1000 for cleaner samples.

the midi will tell the 1000 to play what you have sampled.


why do you have a 1000 and not have a midi cable running to it... just as a deluxe paperweight.


If you can already rock a 60II then for god's sake, at least have the tenacity to learn midi. buy a book.

Send MIDI out a to MIDI in on the 1000


sample sound on the 1000

On the main screen you can select midi out channel of the TRACK you are working on

that sends MIDI to the 1000 when you press a pad.


As long as you have your 1000 on base channel... pressing the mpc pad, when your track is on 'send to channel A1' will trigger the sound you just sampled on the 1000


make sure both the AUDIO outs of the 1000 and the outs of the 60 are all being listened to or monitored.
