Hi i ve got a question...
what is the relationship between 33rpm and 45rpm in music notes? i mean if you play a bass C (33rpm original) in 45rpm what would be the note?

i also want to know when you change the pitch (-/+ at the mk2, what's the music pitch change is made to your note?

There's probably some maths behind this somewhere... say if C was 33Hz @ 33rpm then that would mean 1rpm would be 1hz... so for 45 it'd be 45 x 1 revolution which in this case was 1hz so it'd be 45 hz.

That could be completely incorrect, and probably is. Ignore that.

If you're trying to figure it out why not speed the bass up to 45 rpm, and run a simple keyboard alongside to see what it's been retuned to. Press the notes until it matches the bass. Use those ears!

When pitching a sample up to 45rpm the base note of the original sample at 33rpm can be found by pitching the sample down -5.20. In my experience.

Not just in your experience. This is absolut correct.

Thanks a lot... the thing with the ears is the first i ve tried but i wanted to be exact...

So... To speak in mpc language, this means that if i sample in 45rpm, i have to place in mpc's tune the number -52, to play at the original tune?

Does anyone else knows the relationship between tune and pitch shifter, of a turntable?

Tip: The relation between BPM is the same as between the speeds you play it at. Gives -5.4 semitones for 45 to 33.
