MPC vs Native Instrumets Maschine

I'm planning on doing a reformat of the HD soon because I really don't know why it doesnt work on my setup lol. I never have anything but the internet up in the background when I'm on maschine. Sometimes iTunes but its obviously not playing when im making beats.

It seems like the sparkle that once dominated these boards about maschine has dwindled away.

I wonder why?

Maschine is a great concept. You can accomplish much of what an MPC does. However...it is still not an MPC (or even an MV). From what I have gathered over the years...most MPC users here love the art of sampling and chopping up these samples to create new music. Maschine can do that but it is not nearly as flexible as an MPC. MPCs are exceptional at layering drums and sounds. Maschine does this, but not in an efficient way like an MPC.

The concept of Maschine is the future IMHO. I just want Akai to take a stab at it. I want Akai to keep the hardware design of the MPC 5000 and design the OS as a application/program to run on a Mac/PC.

Don't laugh, but I think the concept of the SP-606 was ahead of its time. Its a true stand-alone and a controller. It works side by side with most software believe it or not and your work can be tossed into the SP to be played live as stand alone.

I think companies need to make stuff like that, but take it to the next level. A controller by day and beat machine at night kind of module. The ability to disconnect and connect, freedom.
