If U Could Add Any One Thing to OS2XL,,, (real users only)

What would it be?

I would go with a feature to convert non-destructive chops into destructive chops, and vice versa. It's that important to me.

(1 would be fixing the GRID EDIT bug when using exotic time sig.)
2 I would say PAD MUTE or special features for live performance.

I would add the ability to set the start and end point of a playing sample by touching a pad or setting slices by pressing a pad.

different length tracks within a sequence

As an old RS7000 user, definitely different length tracks within a sequence. Good shout.

as i said many times - i am happy with the current set of the features but the only thing I would add/change are the improved timestrech and pitch shift algorithms (improve their sound quality) which are now realy crappy and their sound quality is very poor (they sound really really really really really metalic even when changing for a small value) that their usage is very limited..

(i know that someone will claim that its much better to edit samples in the computer but i think that the idea and the real philosophy of the mpc is to be "computer-less" and make music only with the standalone mpc but when you are not able to edit the sample on the mpc so it sounds good and its ready to use without transfering and editing it in the computer it makes the mpc loosing its magic....)

All I want is the sequencer to keep playing after you've recorded an audio track or recorded a sample. It really sucks that the sequence stops after recording.

hmmmm, that prob would be good come to think of it.

the #1 request i would have would be the ability to automate all the PROGRAM & FX parameters, either via LFOs or recorded qlink tweaks.

other than that: just fix the qlinks!

Features still missing from OS2 -> OS2XL upgrade.
- Bring back the missing pattern features... please!!!!!
- Fix Q-Links, make them all useful again
- Others!!!

Multi-Timbrality
- Probably hard, but also one of the most confusing missing features, especially for newbies

Enhanced FX
- Better Reverb
- More delay options
- Better Compressor w/ side chaining

New FX
- Tube Sim
- Tape Delay
- I actually like the destructive FX added with the bit reducer and others... wouldn't mind more of that type

Disk Streaming to stream samples from disk and use more than 128mb of memory
- Like Kontakt, even supporting just one program could make live play so much easier

8 Audio Tracks to disk ala MPC 5k.
- Might take this over the previous one if I could only chose one or the other.

Enhanced Arpegiator ala Korg Triton
- The arp as it stands is kind of useless, almost all hardware that has an arp has way better options/implementation

Chords saved per Track/Song, not to firmware
- Please please please make this become per anything other than machine firmware.

Longer than 16 character filenames
- Not necessary, but might cut done on confusion.

Enhanced ChopShop, Nondestructive chops generate program and midi notes to new track.
- This would pretty much get rid of the need for Recycle and better yet Patch Phrases.

GenOqs Octopus ideas
- Free sync'ing of tracks (can play out of order/different start times)
- Play random parts of timelines per track
- Randomize a track
- change play direction of track

Convert Track to Audio
- The ability to convert a track to an audio loop to quickly bounce it down and conserve polyphony etc...

Live Performance Features
- Able to use external controllers for mixer/pan/fx control...
- A looper effect to build complex performances into like Ableton Lives Looper FX
- More control to stay in rec/overdub mode and not have to stop at the end of some editing features
- Some way to background load, quick load or pre queue the next song to play
- And as well a way to unload the previous song to free up memory for the next song.
