Hello. I've always wanted to make some drum patterns based on some congas, bongos and this type of shit, you know what I mean. I took some sounds from it and tried to play, but most of the times it doesn't work the way it's supposed to :D. So my question is how do you approach this kind of stuff? You chop your loops (e.g. Dr.Rex, Apple loops), you play it using one shots?

Most if not all of my percusive instruments get played. I chumps the sh!t outta them joints!

But seriously, I like stretching out 4 pads with each representing a congo (from low to high) and putting together a nice pattern or two.

Same goes for the cowbell, claps, snaps or whatever.

Here in D.C. it's considered the go-go capital of the world. The go-go katz live by percussion instruments so I try to mimic those performances as best as possible.
