MPC controller pedal..

Hi, Can someone PLEASE help me?? I have an MPC2kXL, and I controll the machine at live gigs as well as playing guitar.... I am in desperate need of some sort of controller pedal to start and stop sequences to free my hands!
as far as im aware, (from what i think i understand from the manual) you can use a midi controller pedal... is this right? does anyone know of any you can suggest? nothing to expensive, just a basic sustain-type pedal.

You would need a pedal that could send midi clock start/stop messages. I do not know of any that send those except for some of the programmable style pedalboards such as the Yamaha FMC-10.

The MPC3000 has a pedal inputs in which you can start/stop. To bad the left that off the MPC2k series. One of the few good things about the 3k.

you can use a regular sustain pedal. Any pedal should work I doubt there's anything special 'bout mine, only 20 bucks.

Hook it up to your midi keyboard. Then on the mpc (I use a 2000) go to the MIDI screen (shift 9) and press F3 to get to the Midi Switch page. There you can set up four switches to perform various functions (play start, play, stop, rec+play, odub+play, rec/punch, odub/punch, tap, pad bank, or any pad or function key). Where it says Control # set it to 64 if you're using a sustain pedal. This can be set to any slider or knob that can transmit midi cc messages.
