Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hey, whaddup everybody!

A couple of days ago...
While I was in recording mode (and mostly while I was recording long samples from records - more than 16 secs) it stated to freeze and in the screen it appeared:
Inv. Gen. Inst.
PC (884fd95c)

I had to roughly switch it off...then it happened more frequently while recording also short samples (it also gave me another error message which I didn't write down, sorry)...in each case I don't know what happened, since it never gave me such a problem...it worked pretty flawlessly while recording samples.
Any experience about it?

I think I'm not rocking the 1.31 OS version, but the older one (since I had no problems so far)...can it be helpful to load the new one?
ps. I don't remeber, HOW should I do it? Download from the Akai site and then put it in the card through USB-connection, and then what?! Any help-suggestion?

THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS.

I would highly suggest before updating that you backup all of your samples off of your CF card. Then update. Then format your CF card using the MPC 500. Finally restore all of your samples and stuff.

A bit of a pain, but there are some bugs that exist with how the MPC 500 used to handle CF cards and file management. You can bring some of those issues over if you don't backup/format/restore.

Hey...
So I'll try with that!

"CF Card Backup", then "update", then "CF Card Format" (LOAD-->CF FRMT), then I'll restore the samples...
Truely hope it'll help.
THANK YOU GUYS!
