logical saving with 1K

I really LOVE my 1K, but I'm still havin' problem the logical saving, in fact I just erase all my works from the card accidently yesterday.
I did some sequence, I did some programs, samples, etc.... so I saved "Entire Memory" to the card (Project1).
next time I didn't want to open everything to get a clear inside ram for build new programs (from new drumsamples) and than I saved again, rewrite Project 1, so all my sequences are gone.
I know it's my foult, but I have to learn the most logical way for working with samples, etc. (i'm pretty new on this field)
The reason is why I didn't want to open the project it's because it opens all the used drum samples, so I get confused which one I used and whitch one is new.
How do you guys do the savings?
Should I just make my 2-3 different programs for drum, and use that for most of the song?
(I know there is no rule for that, etc. but I'm just really interested on how people who are using this professionaly doing that)

So every time should I save in a new folder?
But than, for example I open one with loads of samples, programs, etc.. but I find out that I want to work on a different folder, so I open that one too, and when it comes saving now 2 folder is going to be mixed (I don't know if I was clear ) so it's gonna get complicated again.

well... the MPC only loads what you load [or set to auto-load]... and only saves what you save... so i'm sure you can figure out a flow that works best for you...

you can also purge all unused samples from memory which is useful when you've loaded lots of samples.

I don't have my mpc or the manual in front of me so I don't remember the right menu for that

Just do save entire memory to new folders. Until you know what you're doing and what the MPC is doing (and you're willing to experiment/learn how it works) you're far better off with this method and have a much lower risk of losing something in the event of doing something wrong.

Otherwise if you save just a program/sample/sequence you run the risk of over writing a file that is very important to you because you didn't rename something or getting into a situation where you get halfway through saving and then need to start renaming things which in my previous experience isn't a lot of fun.

Essentially the question comes down to, which is cheaper and less stressful to you? Spending money on a little bit more storage now and then or being able to save your work consistently and reliably? Time or money my friend?

Yes, thanx, that's what I do. I really have to figure the best way out.
What if, I do a little work with it, a couple sequences, etc..and save entire memory (project 1). A couple days after I start to work with it again without open the "project1", and save the entire memory again, but with "project2" for not erasing the "project1", and after open both project, and how can I save that? I cannot save separately and if I save the whole thing for "project3" that doesnt make sence (duplicating project 1-2, leaving the "old versions...)

Yes, save the whole thing in a new folder called project3.

That duplicates some samples etc but it keeps things simple. As NearTao said,

Just duplicate the data. It's a small waste of disk space, but it's much easier.

When you're more familiar with how it works you might want to do things differently and save individual samples and programs to avoid duplication ... but for now just duplicate things. It's easier.

you can always save over your previous project by hitting "replace" in the save dialogue
