?'s on jump from 2k/xl to 4000

I am coming from the 2000 and 2kxl to a new 4000. I am walking my way through a bunch of my questions but can't figure some of these out for shure. First, how can you 16 level a pad inot Note Variation. The old 2000 had 16 level options and I need to know how to 16 level Note Var like one pad through the 16 on that page. Also, my 4000 is reading my 2000 files well but I can't figure this folder mess out. It won't let me folder my old programs, samples, songs, etc.. into say a "group" folder for that project. As well, if I use "clear" when loading my programs from zip, the program loads and is playable, but not from main page. Only in program page. Sounds like alot but I am guessing there are easy answers for this. I just can't find them yet. Thanks for any help. Peace

I have seen some responses to the 16 level question that say a window pops up when you hit the 16 lvl key. Not doin' it on mine. I hit 16 level and it just puts the pad straight into velocity. So all questions above still needed. Thanks.

What o.s. system are you using? Download 1.60 if you dont already have it,and that should solve the 16 levels issues. Before you can use a program you have to assign them to a multi. You do that by pressing the multi key and create a new multi. Press the open window button,and decide how many programs you want to assign to the multi,and press do it. Once thats done hit the mix soft key which is F2,and assign your programs from there. I hope that I didnt leave anything out, I'm not in front of my 4000.

Thanks for your reply. I will try out your suggestions. I believe I am on OS 1.60 but like I said I am loading old 2k and 2kxl programs. In general what is a multi. Comin' from 2k I just used programs and seq. files. Is a multi just a grouping of all this? I'll give it a shot and if any suggestions arise from anyone...please..shout out. I'll be posting here much more for "real" MPC producers for tips and to share what I know. Thanks, Hank
