This is probably a stupid question...
Can you assign the MPC1000's q-link slider to open/close a hi-hat?
If so, what other instruments/percussion does the q-link slider work well with?

In program mode assign a closed hat to a pad in layer 1 (range 64-127). Put a open hihat in layer 2 (range 0-63). Set the q-link slider to layer.

(dreaming my mpc1000 was able to control volume of notes, tracks and external midi gear thorugh the Q-links)

Btw.. is it correct that u cant assign both sliders to one pad? Fx. 1 contolling tune and 2 controling attack of the same pad. Cant find anythin about it in the manual. I cant make it work, but I think its a bit weird if u cant?

The closest info I can find in the manual is:
"These sliders control the sound according to the
setting in the SLIDER mode."
Akai is very careful here not saying too much. Wouldn’t it be a more trustworthy approach to write something like: "It is NOT possible to control the same sound with the 2 sliders"?

i bet making that dream a reality is just a few lines of OS code too
