Does the s3000xl = MPC 3000 ?

apart from the obvious things like pads and sequencing is the sample engine and samples editing features the same as the MPC 3000 ?. I just have the option to get a S3000XL very cheap and can run from my XL.

Thoughs ?

To answer your question... no. But if it's cheap I'd get it. Especially if your MP isn't expanded with the 8 outs or it has the eb16 installed or extra filters.

I think the sound engine on the s3000XL is the same as the mpc2000xl? and the s3000 is the same as the mpc3000? is that a possibility? Also the S samplers aren't the same type of sampler as the MPC from my understanding however I have not owned every model so I dont really know for sure.

Supposedly the S3000 has the same sound chips as the mpc3000, but saying that the s3000xl is also a very very nice sounding sampler especially as the throw away prices they can now be had at.
