2500 and Logic

I've followed through this setup guide to link the MPC and Logic together. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=97274

What I want to be able to do is press pads on the MPC, record them in logic, and have logic playback what was recorded on that channel.

I can get it to record the notes in. Works fine. But when pressing play in logic I hear no sounds from the MPC 2500.

Any ideas or resources to get this working?

The tutorial was about using Logic as a sound module, so the sounds being triggered came from within the program.

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do but triggering the internal sampler sounds is the MPC's main purpose.

Could you explain clearly what you want the MPC to do and what you expect from Logic.

Sometimes in my Dubstep productions I like to use the MPC to sample from vinyl, chop, and layer over the beat.

So what I am basically wanting to do is play on the pads, record the notes into logic as I am playing. When I play back the track in logic, the samples trigger from the MPC. Sort of like using the MPC as a sound module/sampler but with the added advantage of being able to record noted into logic using the pads.

It's probably an unconventional way of using the MPC, but for my Dubstep productions I actually find it a blessing to work with.

I have actually got it working with the help of a dude over on the Logic help forums. I got a slight issue but I should have it solved in a moment.

Ok I think the best way to do it is to use the MPC to record and sequence the sounds I want and set it up so logic and the MPC both play together. Which it's now doing. Rather than going the long way about it like I was.

^I was just going to come and tell u do so. It's very handy. I use 2kxl atm with logic. I've had a few projects where drums come from mpc and other shit(rhodes, bass, synths)from logic. When I'm ready with the song, I just record the audiotracks(drums) into Logic via my Echo Audiofire 12 and a Focusrite Spirit M8 mixer (+ dbx 166xl compressor and dbx 215eq).

And of course synced so u can build the song with recording tracks into Logic when the mpc is playing the drum pattern. When you have tracks that please u enough on both machines - mpc and mac - u just push the record button on Logic and record the drumtracks into Logic. There you have, just sequence how u like and mix how you like. And remember to Bounce

Glad to see you worked that one out.

Its the way to go using the best of both (MPC + Logic).

Great thread, I've been looking at trying to get these things sorted out myself
