Y'all katz were talking about card readers a moment ago. I think that would be a worthy investment in this day & time.

Been thinking of going that route soon myself.

Tons of ASR stuff (mostly ASR-10, not so much ASR-X) is available at Syntaur - including spare keys and LOTS of other parts. We even have a few SCSI kits on hand right now.

I've been adding a Q&A section to the site, which covers some repair issues and other things (how to fix broken panel buttons, etc.) And we have a new book out specifically for the EPS/ASR samplers called "Sample Magic".

Please forgive the blatantly commercial post, but I think all this stuff will be useful. (We've specialized in Ensoniq boards since 1988!)

i got a question about my asr x pro.

i sampled into it. i layed the samples on the pads. i now trigger those samples with my mpc 2000xl.

the problem: by the time the sequence loops or switches to the next sequence all from the mpc triggered samples cut off. they dont continue playing...

f.e.
so lets say i got an intro with a long tailed sample (echo, delay, something) and it is sequence 1 and i want it to fade out in sequence 2 .... it wont work, cause the sample from sequence 1 gets cut off by the time sequence 2 starts.

how can i make this work?

i think the midi signal is only send as long as the sequence... so by the time it loops or switches there is no more midi data for the asr to receive and keep playing this sound.
so, is there a function on my asr to set the pads to "mono, poly triggering" like we do on our mpc´s instead of "note off triggering"?

this sux... i want to keep sequencing on the mpc.

you have to find where the setting is for "finish" as a wave command is.

its like "Poly" in MPCville...

I dont have or know ASRX's tho.

all the other ensoniqs call it that.

Sup guys? I'm getting an ASR10 with no SCSI and I had a couple of questions. How much do you think it would run me to get a CF Drive Installed? Possibly might go external with the cf drive, but I need opinions. I would need to get the Sp-3 install kit and the CF drive correct?
