haven't said anything about this topic for a while, because i think there isn't much use in arguing about it and akai obviously doesn't give a shit. but what realy makes me wonder is that all the reviews i read where only thumbs up for akai. nowhere a word about some problems that maybe could occur. i'm talking about the german "keyboards" and "keys" but i guess that was the same in the states. so whats the sence of reviews then or all they all bought anyway?

BUMB BUMB BUMB UP UP BUMP GO HIGH BUMP BUMP and BUMP !

I haven't been following this forum for a while, so I had a lot of cathing up to do with reading this massive 12-paiged-thread!! And the sad thing is that my mpc does the same, it drops out of samples.

But the worst part is that it does it all the time!! I've made few beats where I have a 2 bar long sample + sigle hit samples on 10-13 tracks or something like that. And everytime at some point the mpc starts to cut the 2 bar-long sample at different points. The fun thing is that it does it "musically" so it sounds a little bit like a dj who's cutting a beat with faders on a mixer. ..but still it is TERRIBLE! What the hell do I do with 64 tracks when this machine can't handle less than 16!??

Anyway, does anybody have any news on this..? Should I try to get my money back or just wait if akai does something..

Please people let's keep this thread up, although many people must be sick and tired of it!!

I've had the same problem (sample drops out for a few meaures) and then it goes away for quite awhile. VERY VERY ANNOYING. And if you were on stage, that would suck, really really really bad.

I agree, this should get fixed asap by AKAI.

I bought mine in PHOENIX AZ.

call AKAI pro 401-658-4032 ask for product support. Tell them you are having this problem-- I am sure if at least 10 people call them they will look into it, PEACE
It is very important that everyone having this problem calls. Forget emailing them. You gots to call and tell them the problem. I called and they are waiting for more people to confirm the problem -- then they will look into it.

I went back to the store where i bought mine (music house/utrecht). Because akai doesn't seem to answer the phone when I call. So the guy who sold me the mpc phoned to some guy of akai, explaining the problem. Now he's is going to test his own mpc on the sequense part (try a sequense with only a 16th hihat, you'll notice the mpc isn't quite tight). He'll probably get the same result as we all do. But there ara some more problems, so if any of you can do the same thing? Then there probably will be an update soon. Because the guy from akai told us i was the first (in holland) who came with this problem. So get your backpack and your mpc and run to the store and let akai know.

I read somewhere that someone might have a fix for this.

Is this correct?

It was embarrassing for me to go back to Guitar Center twice to return a brand new product. They have not treated me the same since. I feel that this problem is absolutely retarded. They have been aware of it for a while and did not address it in their last OS update... something seems fishy here. You would also think that someone at Akai would be aware of this forum, probably the most comprehensive mpc resource. They are totally ignoring their customers. That is whack. I have been to many other "much smaller" yahoogroups for different instruments that have a representative or representatives from the respective company keeping people informed... the decent thing to do. Akai have been around for a long time and they have gained a good product reputation and a lousy customer service one. We all have the internet now and they can't be pulling the same **** anymore. Make sure that this thread stays at the top. Don't buy their **** until it works. Look at how fired up I am getting over a product I do not own and am not willing to support.

I have the latest OS but my samples still drop out. Also they mute even if theyre not on the track that I'm muting. This sucks for live stuff. Also some samples only play like halfway. I know this has been talked about but for real I need to resolve this asap.
