they have boonies in japan? I thought every square inch was paved and was downtown. isn't that why they had to kick the air port off the island cause it was too fat and now it even sunk into the ocean like fat atlantis?

Well aksia never showed up to the beat battle and just disappeared for two weeks poof! Is straight ghosting. Anyway the noise is gone.

MPC step editing, sequencing, layering and groove is like no other other. Maschine in capable hands can help make great music. Just the point is it should be in capable hands as the mpc can do it all by setting the parameters in a great laid out interface. Maschine takes some diggin in the file and edit menu's and the machines build in windows and computers screen through great for sample editing and visual midi programming. It's track layout, sequence, bars, and step data editing isn't as clear or easy to use as an mpc hence I still prefer to sequence maschine with a mpc, save the midi pattern, and drag into logic.

This isn't necessary for a more capable drum programmer but it serves my needs.

The hate some people can muster towards a device is rather extreme. Better to channel that kind of energy into more productive uses

Co sign! I could never understand that kind of reasoning. Rather does it work or not and whether it helps me or not with my production for ease of use and small learning curve so we can concentrate on creativity.

The MPC's sequencer still can't be replaced. Maschines sequencer can get you by but it's not on the same level yet. I think Maschine is best used as a drum/phrase sound module.

I dont like the way my drums sound in Maschine, they don't punch no way as hard as Guru, BPM, BTV let alone my MPC's.

There's a semi distorted/muffled sound, drums lack attack, hats sound rattly and thin, snare's have a white noise-ish quality to them.

I've tried various soundcards, but I just don't like the sound...It's either too smooth, boomy with no mids or distorted.

I like the idea of the programme and if it banged more and could control my modules i'd switch in a heartbeat, but for now the controller is collecting dust and Maschine is but a VST triggered by my MPC 5000.

Just my opinion.

I had a similar problem when I first got maschine noise in the drums and some distortion I had to keep reseting the program to get it right. I was using my Pro Tool Digi002 Rack at the time. I finally got rid of it to use my second card a MOTU as I always had problems with the digi002 rack working with LOGIC also. Bam the problem went away as soon as I switched my card and I like it alot. Still I`m sequencing with my MPC 4k as I`m no expert drummer but I can get it to bump right after I program it on my MPC. I like the controller for the knobs but I got to get the global control macros learned cuz editing the choke groups and polphany for phrases on the sounds one by one is a little trying.

Also today I started out editing the phrases with my audio editor and importing it into maschine via the disk. The filter section also I got to work out as I had to go through each sound one by one again. MPC 4k all of this can be done universal from the program global parameters. Other things I had to do but the sounds are working for me.

Got it worked out by using the marco knobs to control the program parts in the sound section.

Maschine is nice but for the ease of feel and getting my personal groove damn I have to go back to the MPC. Maschine is a very nice purchase and I learned alot using it along with the videos. But at the same time it forced me to dig deeper in my MPC and I can`t live without my MPC. It is users choice but to get the groove going the mpc is fire!!!! Maschine has a hot drum library and I love the knobs. Just I sample and transferred some of the library of maschine into the 4k and it was all she wrote. Go figure.

I do miss my 4000.

I will get another one this winter.

Well it has been a minute and for a minute now I have been working back on the 4k. Why as I have a great deal of control and happy accidents that I find on the mpc that for me at least the maschine doesn`t have. Step editor is a bane for my sequencing drum patterns, qlinks that can be linked to individual sounds or several programs to layer, plus I slide and swing individual hits as I like on my mpc. Maschine editing is fast and fluid but for my sequencing I have to go back to the mpc for ease of use and comfort.
