switching from mpk 49 to MPK 88 with track pad & comp keyb

c'mon with that broke ass pic. the 49 is solid. u gotta do some stuff u aint supposed to be doing to get the keys like that. but if you opened the box and it was like that then u got a defective unit (or maybe it was recklessly pulled out of its packaging) but that dont mean the keys break easily. im certain its no more easy than any other controller. anyhow, u can go wrong with any mpk imo

well apparently it is easier then on other controllers and it is an issue of it being defective because in an other thread an employee of a large music store even said he saw plenty of that problem and only with that particular model. He also said he never saw so many returns on that type of product in his life.

It's far from being solid but the MPK49 is a pretty good MIDI controller... just cheaply made.

Duly noted... Well maybe not as solid as i thought. I can say that I havent had any problems or breaks and I've taken it from home to studio / DJ's crib etc. I do transport it with this

not at all hard case. well anyways... fingers crossed. I aint tryna be replacing no gear.

guitar center sales guy told me yesterday that the store that was supposed to transfer the mpk 88 to my local store dropped the ball and did not put it on the truck so had to get em to do it yesterday, He said should be here monday

ordered the mini computer keyboard and the stick on track pad from earlier posts


thinking about going ahead and ordering these
(mpk 88 takes same pads as upgraded mpc 1000)
and these (pad cork increased sensitivity of pads)

Probably should get the cork the MPK pads sensitivity sucks even if you keep it on Full Level.

I added 4 layers of electrical tape under my MPK pads like in the video. The pads respond a helluva lot better now.

picked up the mpk 88 this morning @ guitar center

the mini computer keyboard and stick on trackpad then came in mail this evening.

myself being left handed, I went ahead and put the trackpad and comp key on the left, then after realizing how heavy duty and sturdy the mpk 88 is 70lbs I was able to put a computer monitor right up on the open space on the right side with ableton live 8 on there. I think this is gonna work out really well once i get use to the layout






I just gotta work out my monitor placement and will be good to go, the mpk 88 pads feel better than the 49 did and ajust feel thinner because of how they are sitting in the frame i guess, sensitivity is ok by me

thats alot of stands, wouldnt you rather have it on a table? and the mpc and apc seem so far away to me...
but im used to having my mpc on my lap, lying in the long chair :p

everything is easily and comfortably reached from sitting position in front opf mpk. I'm left handed reason the mpc is on left

they mpk keys and pads trigger the ableton drumracks and sampler the apc 20 triggers the ableton clips the audio out from ableton/computer are going into the analog inputs of the mpc 1000 then the monitors are plugged into the mpc stereo outs. I put the mpc in analog rec mode monitor on, to have ableton play thru the krk monitors. Getting rid of the yamaha 12 channel mixer as I no longer need it after selling the 2000 and 2000xl

the mic goes into ableton via the shure x2u xlr to usb interface. I just need to pickup a new usb interface for the mpc to go into ableton along with my dj mixer and technics and I'll be done getting gear for a while
