Question about installing internal zip drive?

Hey Im interested in installing an internal Zip drive in my MPC3000. I was wondering, do I need a 68 pin external to internal scsi adapter or a 50 pin?


NVM I figured it out... I need a 25 pin adapter LOL!!!!

If I buy that kit I can still keep my external port? I didnt know that! I might have to buy it! Do you have any pictures that demonstrate how its installed? And will any ATAPTI internal zip drive work?

Also I was wondering, the MPC 3000 power supply cable (the one that connects to the floppy drive) is different from a Zip drive power supply cable. Do you include a cable that converts the zip power supply cable to the 3000 (floppy) power supply cable?

No pictures but it is very easy to install and comes with detailed instructions, plus all the phone/email support you need. I doubt you'll need any - most folks put it in without needing any help at all.

No, you cannot use an ATAPI drive wiith the MPC3000 - only SCSI drives.

Yes, our kit comes with a power cable extension/adapter that has both Molex and floppy power plugs.

ok sounds good. Whats the difference between SCSI, ATAPI, and IDE zip drives?

Every single internal zip drive that I see on ebay is ATAPI\IDE... If im going to have to pay more than $30 for an internal zip drive its not even worth it to me... I was only going to do it because it seemed inexpensive..

I have already went thru 2 external scsi zip100 drives. Are the internal drives a little more reliable than the external ones or no?
