Im about to do some SERIOUS surgery on my 3000!!

I just order and whole CRAPLOAD of stuff for my 3000. Shes about to get a serious makeover. I was about to sell my 3000 but I realized that I will not find anything that sounds like it at all! So I sold my ASR10 instead and got $575 so Im gonna dump some of that into my 3000....

My new upgrades are:

-Blue pads ($25)
-Pad Corx ($15, I heard they dont really work, but Im going to try them anyway!)
-Vailixi OS 3.50 ($215)
-New tact switches!!! ($15)
-Internal SCSI zip drive ($50)

GRAND TOTAL: about $350 with all the shipping charges!!!

...Having a RIDICULOUS MPC3000 MAXED out to the extreme.... PRICELESS!!!

This is going to be some serious surgery. On top of that, Im also going to be flashing my X Box 360 to play burnt games!!! Its going to be a busy week!!! I really dont have too much experience, but I think I'll be able to pull this off successfully!! Id rather do it myself than pay Forat or somebody else $800 to do it all for me!! I successfully replaced the backlight AND inverter by myself, so this should be cake!!! Ill update you guys and let you know how it's coming!!

yo sun don't do that to your 360, you will be banned from xbox live, if you want to get cheap games just do gamefly, rent for as long as you want! my close friend zapped his 360 to play copied games he got banned in like 5 minutes of playing!! he got another 360 started another account that one got banned also! but back to your 3000, it will be really nice!!

Really? He got banned? How long ago? I read somewhere that the new firmware prevents you from getting banned. Did he download games from the internet or burn them himself?

i was the beginning of this year, his girlfriends son use to do it for him, it's just not worth it sun, i got a story for you, i was at his crib one night playing gears 2, it kept locking up & freezing(copied version of gears 2) me like a dummy logged on with my account i got home and logged on my 360, yo all my rank for gears 2 was erased i still have the achievements for them but the in game ranks were erased! (i'm a achievements hound) yo i had to start all over, i'm just at 25, when before i was just about to hit 65!!!!

Good luck with the upgrades, make sure

i) The Vailixi chips go in the right way up
ii) The pad corx are firmly pressed into the pads (if you don't do this - they will stick out too much and the pads will become oversensitive).

Anyone here know where I can get a replacement data encoder for an mpc 3000 ? My jog wheel is broken and I've not been able to find a replacement.

because I dont want to pay $200 for a card reader right now, and I have like 40 zip disks that I bought off ebay a couple months ago so I dont want to waste em... I also got the zip drive for only a few dollars so it's worth it... Plus if I want to upgrade to a card reader in the future, all I need to do is buy the card reader and I can put it right in...

I am almost done doing the exact same thing... I got the zip in, I got the memory expanded, I got the 3.5 in the mail, and all the tact switches in, and a new backlight.

This thing is money.


I almost sold mine too, but I'm pretty happy that I didn't.

But I can't vouch for you getting rid of the ensoniq.

No I wont. I hate the fact I cant chop in stereo.. I only used it for chopping my samples but its such a hassle to do it in stereo.. The only thing Ill miss is that I cant have each pad cut each other off in the 3000 but I might get a 1000 to do that. 1 reason that i got the vailixi os is so I can chop my samples in the 3000 for once.. The export zone to new snd function should make chopping very easy for me...

That doesnt do anything. You still have to copy both sides of the wav file to new files and assign them both to the same key.. its twice the work..
