akai mpc 2500 vs roland mv8800

yes it does but, if have used a mp or any other type of drum\sampler you will have a "general idea" on how to navigate around it. the manual also help's to. LOL

I will go with the 2500 the 8000 and 8800 are cool but you dont need to pay for stuffs you don't really need these units are like you can do everything in the box from the start to the end but it is untrue the 2500 is more fitted to focus on the more important making beat.

I think you are looking at things wrong.
The 2500 actually will cost more than either of those units and does less.
There is nothing about the MV that will prevent you from focusing on the beat any differently than using the 2500.
If you actually check or know their workflow the MV has a more direct aspect for creating a beat than the 2500.
It's a big misconception people seem to have that the 4k, 5k and MV are more complicated to use because they do more.
They all still allow you to make the choice of working straight forward and simple or working deep and complicated.

Also PLEASE REMEMBER if you do go with the 2500 to buy the paid version of the JJ OS.

i agree ntalec, the mv can do a lot more than the 2500, its just all you here is MPC this MPC that! there's nothing wrong the mpc line (i used to have one). you can use both to make beats, its just the setup is a little different, that all! the mpc is just simple & in my opinion easy to use. the mv takes a little bit to get used to if your just coming over from a mpc, and worst if you have never used a drum\sampler! check out all the resources from the roland site & akai site and compare which suits you better!

let me add that the main manual for the MV is over an inch thick... lmao. it is super useful, however if you go for the mv8000 make sure to go on the roland website and get the down-loadable documents for the latest OS (3.52 if i remember the number correctly) anyways the last version of the OS... because there are things it can do that the old manual doesn't cover.

Its the creative minds behind these machine that matters. Just because you wear Jordan's don't mean you'll play like him. It takes dedication and practice.

On a last note, MVs are 3 in one machines not just a sampler and sequencer. Roland threw a basic VS Studio into the unit as well, so you can make a beat and connect a mic to drop some words.

With some ingenuity, you can make the MPC do what the MV can, in fact there are some members that use the MPC only for all their production needs, some even laid down vocals within the machine.

The MV vs MPC debates have been always ongoing. I like my MV in a lot of areas and I like my 2000XL in other areas. I wouldn't get rid of either one. What led me to get the MV over another MPC was it's different workflow. It was like from using a Windows computer to a Apple computer.

ok peeps i made up my mind and instead of buying the 2500 i bought the 1000 and the roland-sp555 because i'm just using the akai for beats alone...so it's the akai 1000 with a 2gb card....i bought the roland-sp555 but it's not coming up on the computer when i hook it up...can anyone help me out????....i downloaded the driver an the wave conveter an stuff...when i plug in the roland it come up on the computer but the card doesn't so i can't sen anything to the machine.....can anyone help me out please?????....thanks
