Hi (repost from mpc 500 forum)
a friend of mine is thinking of buying an MPC500, that he wants to use in combination with an external pad controller like the Alesis Ion IEAD04 or something like it.
There's a video on youtube that shows this, but with an MPC1000:

I can't see why it wouldn't work with the MPC500 but I'd rather check with users here.
Has anybody here used the MPC500 in this manner (external pad controlling the MPC in real time for live performance)? Does it work well?
It is unlikely that he'll be able to try out this configuration before he buys it.
