i am a hard core mpc guy since 99. my production has evolved, and i can still definitely progress the shit out of shit, but i want to upgrade my style to integrate my mpc sequencing steez with a software. i dont want to abandon my mpc chops tho.
so basically i want to do almost exactly what i've always done, but have the sequencing be much more efficient with a graphical layout ala protools. for example, lets say you have a 4-8 bar loop youve been rocking the shit out of, i want to make them basically the same way, but then once they are loops, have them (as if they were) transferred into my pc for visual sequencing. or more like, having the mpc control a program initially while im making the beats, but yet not abandon my og mpcness/beat rocking methodology that ive been honing for 11 years.
i konw there are many ways to do this. but does anyone have any recommendations for the most natural progression to have the mpc calibrate super on point with a software on my pc? protools, ableton, anything else?
i use adobe audition to multitrack, so sort of in the same way as that (graphical layout wise) but with locked in bpms/grid snapping, like protools. yet i can still make the loops like i always have with my xl.
do i need the 8 outs or can i do that with just 2 midi cords? i am not familiar with how to best hook it up with the cpu to have it do what im describing.
im thinkin maybe some people in here might have some recommendations.
